The role involves

ERIKS has strategic plans for further expansion and we are committed to developing and nurturing talent and the future workforce.

We currently seek to recruit a HSEQ Professional working at a regional level, focusing predominately on the East / South Midlands.

This is a key role with ERIKS Industrial Services with prime responsibility to promote HSEQ achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation.

What the role involves:

  • Develop a plan to visit and audit all ascribed operational locations in a 12 month period.
  • Assess all operations to ensure compliance with company, national, international standards and legislation as appropriate.
  • Complete and maintain records of audits, corrective and preventative actions using agreed ERIKS standard format documentation.
  • Creation of enforcement notices where operations and or employees fail to comply with company, national, international standards and legislation.
  • Understand and maintain an awareness relevant legislative changes and their impact upon the ERIKS operations.
  • Identify relevant HSEQ related training needs.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of relevant HSEQ training events.
  • Agree operational standards and establish clearly defined methods and safe systems of work in line with industry best practice, company procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Define and develop new HSEQ procedures as required.
  • Investigate and compile management reports detailing remedial actions/recommendations on accidents and incidents as required.
  • Monitor performance though gathering of relevant data, analysis and production of statistical information.
  • Write technical and management system reports and produce general communications for companywide circulation.
  • Liaise with external auditors and certification bodies.
  • Liaise and respond to customers' auditors ensuring the execution of corrective and preventative actions as required and compliance with customers' information requirements.
  • Work with purchasing staff establish and audit quality requirements and performance from external suppliers.
  • Monitor standards of customer service.
  • Ensure all employees have competence in developing Risk Assessments as required, auditing that these Risk Assessment are fit for purpose.
  • Assist line management as required in the preparation of Risk Assessments and Method statements.
  • Proactively contribute to the continual improvement process in relation to all HSEQ disciplines.
  • As required engage with and or lead projects/initiatives to improve safety, operational performance, reduce costs and our impact upon the environment.
  • At all times demonstrate best practice and operate a safe system of work, promoting the adoption of such to all.
  • Managers are responsible for their own, their staff and visitors health and safety within their operation, for the promotion of health and safety in line with ERIKS and their Customer's Health & Safety Policies and procedures. Managers are responsible for reporting all cases of non-conformance.
  • Managers shall make themselves aware of and ensure compliance with all of the company's applicable management systems policies and procedures.
About You

Minimum of 5 years work experience as a lead auditor or as an HSEQ practitioner.

Proficient user of windows based programmes.

Detailed knowledge of systems and standards to support Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management e.g. ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS1800.

  • Knowledge of Stock Management principles and systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to prepare and deliver management information within required deadlines

Management

  • Motivational skills – Customer and Team members
  • Understanding of, and ability to effectively action Health and Safety principles and procedures
  • Understanding of, and ability to effectively action Environmental principles and procedures
  • Understanding of, and ability to effectively action Quality Assurance principles and procedures
  • Ability to manage the site administrative workflow, setting individual tasks and ensuring completion within given/set timeframes

Solution Selling

  • Understand how ERIKS adds value to its customer and articulate this to colleagues and direct reports
  • Where change is recommended to customers, have the ability to assist with the change management process
  • Ability to work with colleagues and direct reports to leverage successful projects that results in new business opportunities or increased customer retention
  • Ability to effectively manage and implement projects
  • Ability to advise direct reports on how to resolve conflict with mutually beneficial outcomes for ERIKS and its customer

Operational

  • Good knowledge of some or all categories of Maintenance, Repair and Operational product and service range
  • Ability to effectively manage sales, margin and customer price savings to achieve ERIKS profitability targets
  • Ability to identify, justify and deliver optimised stock levels within overall customer commitments
  • Effectively manage time and territory in order to maximise opportunities and minimise costs
  • Good knowledge of OEM markets and applications

Required qualifications:

  • Grade A* - C GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics
  • Higher Education in Health and Safety or Engineering is preferred
