The role involves

We currently seek to recruit an Electrical Fitter based at Swansea Distribution and Engineering service centre.

This is a key role with Distribution and Engineering with prime responsibility to repair, overhaul and service a wide range of industrial rotating equipment including AC & DC electric motors, pumps, gearbox's, fans and associated ancillary equipment both in house and on site to OEM specifications whilst working to strict quality requirements and health & safety guidelines.

What the role involves:

  • Repairs to all types of industrial equipment including AC and DC motors, Motorised Gearboxes, Gearbox's, Pumps, Fan units and other associated rotating equipment
  • Have the ability to fault find and identify and rectify defects and worn / damaged components
  • Have as a minimum basic electrical testing capability to assess electrical condition of AC & DC components
  • Have sound mechanical engineering knowledge to identify and rectify faulty and worn / damaged components and understand reclamation techniques and reverse engineering options
  • Applicants must be flexible and be prepared to work the hours required in a demanding and busy 24/7 service orientated environment
  • Participate in call out rota as required
  • Working on site in addition to the workshop when required (Site working experience is a distinct advantage and suitable qualifications such as CCNSG passport is preferable)
  • Working within the current health & safety guidelines and site requirements
  • Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Good team working skills as well as working on own initiative
  • Promote good housekeeping for an efficient working environment
  • Promote health and safety in line with ERIKS and Customer Health & Safety Policy within the site operation and report all cases of non-conformance.
About You
  • Minimum of 1 years work experience in a similar role / environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of Job specific specialised equipment.
  • Able to work within the Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Knowledge of some or all categories of Maintenance, Repair and Operational product and service range
  • Ability to identify, justify and deliver engineering benefit savings
  • Ability to develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives
  • Communication and inter-personal skills.

Required qualifications:

  • Grade A* - C GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics.
  • Higher Education in Engineering is preferred.
