We currently seek to recruit a Product Manager within Product Business Unit Drives and Power Transmissions, based in Dudley.

This is a key role with prime responsibility to support and drive product and service development within the business. Providing full support to the sales, marketing and engineering functions. Increasing own brand sales and margins.

What the role involves:

  • Responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of Power Transmission product range and associated services. Defining the vision, goals and initiatives for Power Transmission products.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to include Global Product Group team (GPG), sales, engineering and marketing, having forecasting and profit and loss responsibilities for the products.
  • Analyse the market and competitive environment to define a differentiated product vision that delivers value to ERIKS and its customers. Understanding customer needs and expectations, applying these to the ongoing development of the product ranges
  • Understand product requirements for all parts of the ERIKS' organisation and work to define solutions, bridging organisational gaps.
  • Responsible for setting a product vision and strategy for the UK business with agreement of Global product group team.
  • Define product development plan and roadmap including all aspects of release from marketing though to sales planning and defining and/or delivering product training.
  • Managing the process of generating, developing, and curating new ideas for new products, services and features, ensuring that these fit the needs of the business and its customers.
  • Defining product market combinations
  • Management of all technical and commercial documents, brochures, drawings and PIM data (including Webshop).
  • Responsible for making product decisions and being the lead resource for the rest of the ERIKS UK organisation when deep product expertise is required. This includes supporting the marketing, sales and support teams.
  • Evaluate new products on a technical, quality and commercial basis. Ensuring compliance with ERIKS' sustainability policies.
  • Negotiating the best commercial deal for ERIKS with regard to pricing, payments, rebates etc.
  • Working with QAHSE in the management of the overall preferred supplier listings, including non-core products.
  • Travelling to existing and prospective suppliers as defined by management or the Global product group team
  • Setting, implementing and monitoring companywide pricing strategies, including managing and overseeing promotional, catalogue and contract pricing
  • Supplier price file maintenance and management on the multiple ERIKS system
  • Travelling to ERIKS UK sites and customers to present products, discuss developments and provide local training and support.
About You
  • Minimum of 1 years work experience in a commercial, distribution or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of MRO market and products and specific in depth knowledge of power transmission products including both Open drives and Gearboxes, Motors & Automation products
  • Proficient user of windows based programmes. Experience of fully integrated system based sales order processing and stock management systems.

Required qualifications:

  • Grade A* - C GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics.
  • Higher Education in Business Commercial Management or Engineering is preferred.

  • Where change is recommended to customers, ability to assist with the change management process
  • Ability to work with Direct Reports to leverage successful projects that results in new business opportunities or increased customer retention within the Region
  • Ability to effectively manage and implement projects
  • Ability to advise Direct Reports on how to resolve conflict with mutually beneficial outcomes for ERIKS and its customers


  • Good knowledge of some or all categories of Maintenance, Repair and Operational product and service range
  • Ability to effectively manage sales and margin across the Regions to achieve ERIKS profitability targets
  • Ability to identify, justify and deliver optimised stock levels across the Region within overall contract commitments
  • Effectively manage time and territory in order to maximise opportunities and minimise costs
  • Good knowledge of OEM markets and applications
