The role involves

We currently seek to recruit a Buyer for Central Procurement based in Bitteswell.

This is a key role with Central Procurement with prime responsibility for the execution of day-to-day Service Centre purchasing activities including placement of all requisitions routed through the appropriate channel. Driving savings through negotiation, use of preferred suppliers and consolidation of spend. Use of ERIKS central procurement processes and tools to improve profitability and reduce supply chain risk.

What the role involves:

  • Utilise Transactional Procurement processes and tools in coordination with key stakeholders (Branches, PBU's, Finance, etc.)
  • Convert Service Centre purchase requisitions to purchase orders ensuring best price and supplier selection
  • Generate savings through supply chain knowledge and negotiation skills
  • Proactively support branches with supplier identification, selection, sourcing and negotiation.
  • Effectively communicate with the originators of purchase requisitions delivering excellent customer service
  • Ensure that purchase order data quality complies with company standards
  • Actively minimise cheque and purchase card transactions where appropriate
  • Proactively operate across all ERIKS locations to the wider benefit of the company
  • Undertake due diligence in mitigating external supply risk from supplier selection through to item delivery
  • Champion HSEQ and promote compliance with ERIKS code of conduct
  • Support HSEQ through effective supply quality management
  • Deploy standard processes and tools to efficiently operate according to ERIKS policies and procedures
  • Uphold ERIKS / SHV values and philosophies.
About You
  • Demonstrable work experience within a procurement function.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes, including advanced use of Excel.
  • Working knowledge of risk management activities related to the Purchasing function. Including contractual risk, reputational risk, regulatory and ethical risks.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Consumables / MRO supply chain is advantageous.

Required qualifications:

  • Grade A* - C GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics.
  • Higher Education in Commercial Business Management or Engineering is preferred.
